Learn from one of the greatest fashion photographers

Carlos is a renowned international fashion photographer who has worked with some of biggest names in the business, including Vogue Italia, Harpers Bazaar, ELLE and GQ. Originally from Spain, Carlos has lived all over the world to pursue his love of fashion, and is currently living in London. He is also the creator of fashion magazine Fashiopolis.

Introduction to fashion photography

Have you ever been curious about how to create stunning fashion photography? Then this is the workshop for you!

You may be a novice but every professional has to start somewhere. Join renowned fashion photographer Carlos Lumiere for a two day-workshop as he shares invaluable tricks of the trade in his personal photography studios in Southwark, London.

In this workshop, you will learn about castings, finding models and approaching modelling agencies, planning and budgeting a shoot, various forms of studio lighting, working with models and creative editorial vs. commercial. Don’t go thinking this is all theory, the second day is dedicated 100% to hands-on experience and the attendees can show what they learned.

Day1

Detailed examples and Q&A session

The day starts with Carlos presenting his work through detailed examples followed by a short Q&A session.

He will cover how to develop the concept and mood-board of a photo-shoot, how to approach a model agency, stylist, makeup and hair artist, how to choose the right model for the shoot and to how match them to the concept. He will also cover the significant differences between creative and commercial editorials.

After the lunch break, Carlos will run a photo shoot using one studio light. Each participant will have time to shoot and get crucial feedback.

Day2

The second day will be 100% practical

With skills gained from the previous day, the second day will be 100% practical. Carlos will organise a
photo shoot with a professional model, covering the following elements:

Part of this practical part will be done with Hasselblad digital medium format camera.
Carlos will have one-to-one tutorials and portfolio reviews with each participant.

CONDITIONS

Each workshop is 2 days, with a maximum of 12 participants.
Each participant must know how to use an DSLR camera on manual mode and ideally own one.

The workshop fee includes breakfast and lunch.
