We are committed to providing sustainable venues in London. This means that we take steps to reduce our environmental impact and to make our space as eco-friendly as possible. Some of the measures we take include:

Our Vision
Lumiere continues its aspirations to be sustainable and to support local communities, international and local charities, including UNICEF, as well as offering workshops, apprenticeships and internships to young people and to champion aspiring artists. We believe in giving back to create a greener London.
We are proud to be currently positively impacting 16/17 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

We have embarked on our sustainability journey by partnering with experts, FuturePlus, setting ambitious goals and regularly training everyone in our team, so we are all responsible and accountable.
Our achievements so far
We are committed to creating sustainable venues in London, and are proud of the steps we have taken to make our venues more environmentally friendly. Our efforts include:

- And incorporating sustainable practices into all aspects of our operations.
One of the ways we have made our London venues more sustainable is by implementing a three-bin system for different types of waste. FirstMile turns this waste into energy. We also prioritize using locally sourced food and other environmentally-friendly products. Read more about our steps for creating sustainable venues in London below:
Recycling & Reusing
First Mile
We don’t send anything to landfill, recycling 98% of our waste including all of our tech. Anything that can’t be recycled is turned into energy electricity and biofertilizer by First Mile, our waste disposal people
Waste Separation
We have three bins in every room: one for food recycling, mixed recycling, and one for all other waste
Reusing
We encourage our clients to mark their names on their cups & reuse to reduce water wastage
Energy Saving & Monitoring
Light
We use energy efficient light bulbs throughout our spaces and don’t turn lights on just for the sake of it
Monitoring
We monitor our energy usage to have a clear picture of how to reduce our carbon footprint further
Sustainable Energy
We use Octopus Energy in one of our venues and are switching over two more in 2023
Sustainable Food & Food Waste
Sustainable Food
We use fresh, ethically produced ingredients sourced locally where possible to support our local community, as well as reducing our carbon footprint
Seasonal Food
We do our best to support British farmers and suppliers by using many seasonal fruits, vegetables, meats and fish with effective menu planning to reduce our carbon footprint
Olio
We avoid food waste by using food sharing apps like OLIO, offering excess food to our staff and clients and sharing with our local community
Other
Public Transport
All our venues have excellent public transport links and we provide bike storage facilities for our staff and clients
FuturePlus
The simplest way to manage our sustainability, FuturePlus firmly believes that we should measure what we value most, not just value what we can easily measure.
